“Mizuiku – I love clean water”: 700 students learnt to save water at Suntory Pepsico Vietnam Beverages plants

In October 2016, Suntory Pepsico Vietnam Beverages (SPVB) organized 9 field trips to 700 elementary students in both Northen and Southern Vietnam at Bac Ninh Plant and Dong Nai Plant. This was the useful extra-curriculum activity in “Mizuiku – I love clean water” – an educational project sponsored by Suntory Holdings Limited and SPVB in coordination with local partners, authorities and elementary schools at Bac Ninh and Ho Chi Minh City.

Students participate in fresh water experiment and get ready for plant visit

Previously in 2016, the project has been deployed to over 270 classes with participation of over 3.300 elementary students; installed the RO water purifying system; built the new restroom and upgraded 3 restrooms at elementary schools; raised “Mizuiku – I love clean water” fund and organized Water Saving New Initiative Contest. Especially, the project also organized Water Festivals at 5 elementary schools in the South with participation of 3.600 students. In the program, the students get the chance to review knowledge about fresh water, join in physical games relating to water and other fun activities like drawing contest, puzzling or water purifying machine resembling game.

The exciting atmosphere at the Water Festivals

In 3 hours, the trip provided various remarkable activities that were hardly seen at school, such as experiment about water protecting role to the Earth, using litmus paper to test the water pH, or the transformation of water quality after purification. Especially, the students watched and experienced for themselves the closed chain technology for the production of familiar beverages like Pepsi, 7UP, Revive, Sting, Ô Long Tea+ Plus, … in order to learn more about wastewater treatment and water saving technology applied at the SPVB factories.

Their enthusiasm and excitement boosted up the spirit of organizers

“Mizuiku – I love clean water” is the project sponsored by Suntory Holdings and executed in Vietnam by SPVB in cooperation with many partners. The project started in the North in 2015 and expanded its scale to the South in 2016.
