To create a better studying environment for students living in difficulty in pandemic centers, Suntory PepsiCo Vietnam in collaboration with the Vietnam National Union of Students organized the online volunteer program "Flexible Learning – Connecting Knowledge."
After
2 weeks of implementation, the program had 28,768 participants sharing
information from nearly 70 fanpages of youth, student associations and Facebook
users. With the raised funds, the organizers decided to donate 70 new laptops
to students living in difficult circumstances, so that they can study more effectively
during the pandemic.
Representative
of Suntory PepsiCo Vietnam shared that Da Nang, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai experienced
the 2nd wave of pandemic with many difficulties. When the pandemic
broke out, universities and colleges in the three central provinces were closed
and the student learning was disrupted.
“The
pandemic must not cause study interruption. We hope students can return to
school in a better. Remote study is a challenge for students due to lack of
tools and equipment. The situation is even worse for poor students living in
remote and isolated areas,” shared Mr. Pham Van Le, Senior Sales Director of
Suntory PepsiCo Vietnam.
Understanding the above difficulties, Suntory PepsiCo Vietnam donated 70 computers so that students can get access to the internet for online learning and keep up with the curriculum.
The
business representative also shared that through this program he hoped to
spread the Yatte Minahare spirit of dreaming big, accepting challenges and
never giving up. "With this spirit,
the students can proactively learn during the pandemic, adapt to the new
situation, grow and achieve impossible things despite difficulties," said
the representative.
Hoang Thi Nhung said that she
had been dreaming of having a laptop for a long time to study but could not
afford it. When the school announced that she would receive a laptop donated by
Suntory PepsiCo, Nhung was very excited that her small dream
finally
came true. “I will use the computer for learning and access to online
knowledge. Thank university and organizer for this this meaningful gift,” said
Nhung.

However,
when the pandemic broke out, restaurants were temporarily closed and Nhuan did
not have a job. “To me, a laptop is a luxurious dream. I did not expect that
one day the Vietnam National Union of Students and Suntory PepsiCo Vietnam
would give me this meaningful gift,” shared the student.
